Out of School Suspension/Exclusion
Hello. I am currently searching for the topic of homeless youth and out of school suspensions/exclusion from district grounds. I am only finding statistics stating that youth experiencing homelessness are suspended at a higher rate. Is there anything that I should be doing as the Liaison in a situation like this?

Hello! I don’t think the law says anything about suspension and expulsions. If suspended, I would share resources for food since they won’t have access to school breakfast and lunch. If expelled, I would put a packet together for the parent of different resources they can access. Depending on the age, possible share home school information or GED programs. Be sure to double check with your state to see if there are any specific policies that are in place.
