Is this student an Unaccompanied Youth? If so, do they have any other person in their life who can reach out to the parent to get insurance information? If they are 18 they can apply for Medicaid. If they are under 18, some states allow them to apply on their own.
If they are a minor, they will need parental consent for most medical care. Minors who are 14 and up can seek care for a few things without parental consent including mental health counseling. If they are experiencing homelessness, I would suggest connecting with a youth shelter if you have one in your area. Some have access to medical services or can refer you to providers.
