How do you provide transportation assistance in your district?

This is always a big question from liaisons. The way you provide transportation may vary from district to district. Share what your district does to transport your MV students to and from their school of origin.

Thanks for sharing, @aruckman! I also live in a rural area so 30 miles can be typical for students to travel. That’s awesome your student is involved with sports and has the part time job.

We have a student currently living approximately 30 miles away. He wants to finish the year because he is involved in sports and he helps clean after school as a part time job. Luckily he has a vehicle so we are furnishing gas cards. We are in a rural area so public transportation is limited.

@carol.gonzales, that is a wonderful resource. Are the Suburbans used for other purposes as well and was there any special funding you used to purchase them?

Our District has Suburbans that we utilize to transport Mc-V kids to and from school.

No, when it comes to billing we keep them separate because we use different funding for it but we use the same bus’s
