18 year old senior
I have an 18 year old student who was basically abandoned at 15. He has been living with friends since then. Since he is now 18, the family is wanting to charge him rent. Sadly, he doesn’t have a job or a license to get to a job and this is a very rural area so he cannot find a job without transportation.
Does anyone have any ideas of programs or ways to assist this student? The staff is afraid he will get kicked out of this home setting and have nothing planned for anywhere to go.

Love the idea of online work @SabrinaMV. Another thought, is there a school based drivers ed program he can participate in to obtain the drivers license?
Hello! Have you contacted the Community Action Agency in your region? I wonder if there are online jobs the youth could apply for that would not need transportation. Are there any jobs available at the school district they could be hired for that take place before or after school? If they are a senior, are they planning to seek post-secondary education? Some colleges or universities may have some programs if they are planning to attend there.
