unaccompanied youth

I have a 17 year old student that is no longer welcomed to live at home with his parents. He is living with another family member about 30 minutes from our district. Does McKinney Vento help cover cost for students personnel vehicle (Insurance, Gas, Tabs. etc.)

      We have to look at what is reasonable, allocable, and necessary (all 3) to remove the barriers to education. Work with your Grant Coordinator for more support around this one. Irma Lopez-Barajas

      Is your district involved in CarePortal at all? Otherwise, I would look into local food banks and churches.

      McKinney Vento might be able to help, but you could also look into Michigan Works! They have helped lots of our students.

        Hi @DanicaNowak – what type of assistance has Michigan Works! offered your students? I wouldn’t have thought of them as a resource. Thank you for any additional info you can provide from your experience. 🙂
