Our most common homeless qualification is doubled up as well. We also have a clothing closet, but not food packs, as we are a virtual school. We have homeless students in all 88 counties so it is a challenge to find resources for families due to them being spread out all over our state. Food insecurity is such a challenge! We try hard to maintain contacts for food banks and opportunities in all counties so we can ensure our kiddos are not experiencing hunger.
Hi Tonya! I am not too far from Fostoria. Our most common homeless qualification is doubled up. We have a clothing closet and food packs that we send home with out students who qualify under McKinney-Vento. I am still trying to work through my requirements and everything I need to do to best support students!
Hi Erin, most of ours are doubled us as well… affordable housing is the biggest struggle right now for my families. We are fortunate to have a Caring Closet of basic needs(hygiene, etc) items that is sponsored by the Imagine for Youth Foundation to be able to send home with families. We having clothing and food available based on donations received. So grateful for the support our school receives for our students.
