They are an invaluable resource https://www.michigan.gov/mde/services/school-performance-supports/educational-supports/programs/mckinney-vento-homeless Also work through the Liaison Portal Checklist as it will walk you through your role. The Liaison Training will also help you get oriented and it required by the State of MI.
