Community Connections

Hello! How is everyone else reaching out to community partners? Randomly, email, in person, etc.? We’re hoping some partners in the community can help us connect with families that may be afraid to talk with the school.

      We have a family resource center in our County that we partner with. We also work closely with the county too and let them know who to reach at the school so they do not need to continue to tell their story to get to the right person.

      I am part of our Heading Home Washington (county homeless contacts) and CONNECT groups in Washington County where my district is. I have utilized those forums to not only get out the data of our homeless students at the school level as we have different criteria than HUD homeless definitions, but also to make connections with other agencies that support our families.
