Cold Weather Resources
If you live in a climate with cold winters what resources do you provide your students experiencing homelessness? We make sure our kids have winter weather gear such as boots, gloves and coats. We also make available the list of warming centers in our community. These can usually be found on your city and/or county websites.

We partnered with a local radio station that had an annual coat drive. They would donate a portion of their coats to us to distribute to MV students as well as other students in need. They would as ask me to do an interview each year during the drive which opened the door to community members making cash donations. We used these funds, and MV grant funds, to purchase hats, gloves, etc. to give out with the coats.
