MV Student Specialized Graduation Plan
I am looking for ways to help a MV student who will be a senior this upcoming 2025 school year, and is not on track to graduate with his class. He is currently taking Automotive at CTE program in Roscommon MI, He would like to take the 2nd year automotive course at CTE in the morning, then return to school and work on GED prep the rest of the day. He does not have an IEP, but isĀ under Mckinney-Vento, I am hoping this is enough to create a specialized individual plan to have him still be enrolled and receive a GED.
I am looking for information to correctly and legally implement this plan and if MV would be able to pay for the GED online course or not.
Important
I am going to assume that this student is enrolled in school as he is attending your CTE program. I am curious if there is an opportunity to have the number of credits he needs to achieve? Oftentimes the number of credits is higher than the state minimum and the district could allow him to graduate with the lower required number. You can use MV funds to help pay for GED prep if that is what is going to get this student over the line.
