Building off of Rachel’s thoughtful post this week:
In the middle of juggling paperwork, coordinating transportation, and navigating daily challenges, it’s easy to wonder if the little things you do really make a difference. But efforts like a returned call, a bus pass, or a listening ear bring stability and connection to a student experiencing homelessness.
These moments may seem small, but they’re rooted in something much bigger: your why.
– Maybe it’s the relief on a student’s face when they receive a backpack filled with supplies.
– Maybe it’s the comfort of knowing a hygiene kit helped a student feel confident.
– Maybe it’s the reminder that education is about creating a sense of belonging.
– Maybe it’s the joy of knowing that a small gesture can make a world of difference to a student in need of stability.
Whatever your why is, hold it close and let it remind you of the purpose behind your work. Your impact is profound, even if it’s not always visible. Remember: The small things are the big things. You are making a difference.
